the golden age.

I don't know where my mum got this vintage brass shell bag from but it's so beautiful, like a byzantine artefact. I'm waiting until I find a dress or outfit, sort of like a soul-mate to this bag so that I can take it out in its gilded glory again. Right now it's just hanging on the mannequin's shoulder in my room...being very patient...

Which takes me to: The Chanel pre-fall 2011 collection that I found on knightcat that I adore, I'm thinking one of the beautiful Byzantine inspired dresses will be a match for my lonely little golden bag...thing is she'll have to wait even longer until I can conjure up those kind of sums to pay for a dress...

excuses

i started listening to this ages ago and I still listen to it every time I turn on my ipod. Therefore I declare it song of the month (last month, this month and also maybe next month because it's so good I might never get sick of it, ever.)

hello

Welcoming the arrival of the Ann Demeulemeester -esque sandals into my life! (I will not say 'copy' because that is much too degrading to Jeffrey Campbell seeing that his originals are fabulous and even if this did look a little copied, he is the one who makes the dreams of millions of girls who want to own a pair of Demeulemeesters come true)

Well on my search with my friend yoda for a pair of perfect litas (for her black distressed leather and for me the paisley patterned ones) at a shoe store carrying Jeffrey Campbell we were so disappointed to see none on display and were even more devastated that none were in currently in stock... before going out of the store with my day being completely ruined I set my eyes on a pair of these combat boot inspired sandals, you know, the Ann Demeulemeester look-alikes and DIED (I saw the originals worn by Jane from the seaofshoes aaaaaaaages ago and always wished I could own a pair).
I tried them on and although they were a tad bit too tight but they did fit eventually (after much pushing and shoving), I HAD to buy em, so I did...
AND that's the end of my story folks... here are some pics of my new beloved shoes:

ps. sorry I've been away for a few days and haven't been posting, I will make it up to you!

Leighton

everyone's favorite gossip girl!

Gorgeous Blake Lively has been 'spotted' (HA my gossip girl vocab is in use) out and about on the fashion scene a lot lately, but I can't help but to say that I much prefer Leighton's edgier outfits to Blake's feminine frocks (and booby accentuating outfits) I wonder why Leighton isn't gracing the front rows of more fashion houses...
Watching the latest Gossip girl episode as I type hehehe, a diehard fan I am :)

Super kate

God if I could ever pull off a lurex jumpsuit....

This look is Cruella de Vil (channelling Cruella's fur ferocity) heading out to the clubs. (judging by that fabulous jumpsuit I would say off to studio 54!)
But this is Kate, she is no Cruella, on the contrary, Kate is... KATE THE GREAT. The super heroine of the story, never the villain.

I really forgot where I got this photo from...apologies if I forgot to credit! I really meant to!

Reed & Rader

Have you ever stared at a human image for so long that you thought you saw the person blink?
I know I have...

sunday best

That skirt is just mad cool. Looks a little margiela-esque (or is it?)...love it paired up with the ann demeulemeesters too. And how fitting that this lady was snapped in front of the national gallery whilst wearing that skirt?!!? Blows my mind.

I love surrealism! Two years ago I did my GCSE art exam piece based on Magritte's surrealist style... this skirt just looks like a walking surrealist piece...as if you're looking into a parallel universe, reminds me of the Chronicles of Narnia too in this case you must look into skirts instead of wardrobes to find Narnia haha.. probably because the picture details are so clear, the bottom picture is getting me very inspired I feel an art piece coming along in my head now, how often does a skirt do that to you? For me this is a first!

velvet winter

I recently got a couple of velvet shift dresses (the same in two colours) and I must say I'm digging velvet as a fabric of choice this winter. To me it feels very edgy and classic...simultaneously. It's difficult to explain.
So I'm thinking if all goes well with my current velvet dresses (that is if I don't look like a fat stuffed sofa  when I wear it and is able to pull it off with the right components) I want to shop for more! 'With Hearts In My Eyes' is new in to the bonadrag website and all the pieces look stunning on the model's amazing curves (more incentive for me to eat less? It is unlikely, but possible guys) a lengthy velvet fishtail dress is on my MUST buy list because I can just imagine wearing that to some kind of party making a theatrical-as-can-be entrance with a dramatic large cape, feeling cool as hell and all the while snug and warm. You know what I mean?

I'm also a sucker for all white lace dresses, swoooon.
